That pretty much sums up Homebrew Stringband. The band is made up of Gary and Alyse Read singing and playing the bluegrass, Americana and "oldies" songs they grew up with. Gary (guitar, mandolin, vocals) brings his oldies rock while Alyse (bass, banjo, and vocals) pulls in her bluegrass and mountain roots. After moving from Seattle to Spokane, they met Brad Keeler, the third member of the band. He is a talented multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who brings in a great old-time sound as well as blues and bluegrass influences. As he says , “ I play covers from the last 100 years; originals from the last 30+ years.” Between the three, you never quite know what you’re going to get. They like to call their style of music “twisted bluegrass. Always feel free sing along with them!

Anything can happen and often does musically when ZOLA turns over the stage to some of its most talented contributors. Far from an open jam, the ZOLA All-Stars will be taking the stage every Tuesday with any number and combination of friends to recover from the Monday blues and kick the week into gear. ZOLA may not be the only place for live music on any given Tuesday but sure are the only ones where you can get your fix every Tuesday in Spokane.
